COVID 19-Update May 23
As you may be aware, Maine is still in a state of emergency and things are just starting to open around the state. After much investigation and reflection, with regret, I have decided not to open Quietside Campground for the 2020 season. As you know, we are a small campground, run with a small crew. Staffing as such would not be sufficient to meet the CDC and Governor Mills’ guidelines. (https://www.maine.gov/covid19/restartingmaine). Accordingly, I am spending the season enhancing current structures to serve you well in the future. I look forward to seeing you next year.
For those campers with a reservation, please contact me if you have not already to discuss options for a refund or a hold for future camping. Best, Susan
Do you want all of Acadia National Park with none of the crowds?

(lower one re-done spring 2019) All sites and cabins have picnic tables and fire pits.

Our 2021 season runs from mid June through Columbus Day. While the campground is fully staffed & busy all summer, our regulars know the secret to fall. Enjoy the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island during the "quiet-time" at our campground.
Quietside Campground's unusual campground sites are meant for people to enjoy the experience of camping in its simplest form — yet comfortably and with some conveniences. Visiting campers are immersed in the wild, coastal Maine natural surroundings from natural indigenous foliage to native birds and wildlife. Your vacation with us is truly a breath of fresh Maine air!
We encourage a nature based, "green" atmosphere at Quietside. Enjoy the stars while sitting by the fire without bright lights. Listen to and observe the many birds around the campground. We have a full complement of outdoor books and information in the campground office. There are many programs in the area to encourage children as well as adults to head outside.
